Discover Our Journey
“Al Ibtisama,” derived from the Arabic word meaning “the Smile,” is more than a name - it is a heartfelt promise, a clear purpose, and a foundation of compassion and inclusion.
Al Ibtisama Centre for People with Disabilities is a community-based, non-profit special education centre dedicated to serving People of Determination in Sharjah. Owned and managed by the Indian Association Sharjah, the Centre was established in 2019 and is licensed by the Ministry of Family (formerly known as the Ministry of Community Development) and the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD). The Centre provides specialized training and comprehensive support for students with autism and intellectual disabilities aged 4 to 18 years.
“If I can’t learn the way you teach, will you teach me the way I learn?”
At the heart of our mission is a compassionate, highly skilled team of educators, therapists, and staff,
committed to empowering every individual to reach their fullest potential.
