Policies & Guidelines

SAFEGUARDING POLICY Under the guidance of the Ministry of Family (Ministry of community development) and the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), and in line with the UAE Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 (Wadeema’s Law), Al Ibtisama Centre for People with Disabilities is committed to creating awareness about the rights and wellbeing of children and people of determination. We strive to ensure that they grow and learn in a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment that supports their overall development within our society.

At Al Ibtisama, we believe that all children and people of determination have the right to appropriate living standards, access to healthcare, quality education, and equal opportunities in essential services and facilities, free from discrimination, neglect, or harm.

The Al Ibtisama Safeguarding Policy establishes clear guidelines regarding the responsibilities of the Centre and the active role of teachers, therapists, and staff in protecting all students under our care from emotional, psychological, or physical harm, abuse, or neglect.

We regularly provide training and guidance to our staff, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and tools to recognize signs of abuse or neglect and to report and manage such concerns with utmost sensitivity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

In addition, we empower our students by educating them about personal safety and wellbeing, encouraging them to express their feelings openly and to report any experience of bullying, discrimination, prejudice, or mistreatment.

Through these measures, Al Ibtisama remains committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and protective environment where every student is valued and supported.
